The National Research and Innovation Award was instituted as the part of the Research and Innovation Lecture series to recognize and appreciate individuals and institutions who have made significant contributions to research and innovation in Ghana.
During the maiden National Research and Innovation Award, some prominent institutions were honored.
STAR-GHANA Foundation was awarded for “Funding Strategic Research Projects and Supporting the Dissemination and Utilization of Research Findings in National Discourse and Policy Planning.” The Award was received by Mr. Ibrahim Tanko, the Program Director and Acting CEO of the Foundation.
Millennium Promise, an international organization with office in Ghana, was honored for “Partnering for with the Research Community and Mobilizing Cutting-edge Science and Technology to Accelerate the Attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals in Ghana and Beyond”. The Award was received by Dr. Seth Dapaah, the vice president of Millennium Promise.
GHOne TV, a private TV station in Ghana was honored “For Creating Awareness and Mobilizing National Resources to Promote Good Health and Wellbeing (SDG 3) among Adolescents and Youth” through the End Tramadol Abuse Now Program.
